Opening Plenary:
AI in the Language Classroom
Technology is constantly evolving, and it can be a bit daunting knowing how to use it effectively as a tool in the language classroom. AI in particular has taken the world by storm, and it has many great uses to enhance language learning. In this talk, we will look at what AI is and what it offers for the language classroom, making reference to how we can implement it into our classes and addressing various concerns for its use.
Closing Plenary:
Blended Learning with Cambridge Digital Content
As the world becomes more digital, blended learning is becoming ever more important. When used optimally, digital content can both enhance and strengthen language teaching and learning. In this session, we will identify a number of principles for effective blended learning practice in the classroom, as well as look at the wide range of Cambridge resources available to teachers on the Cambridge One platform.

Formative assessment in practice
We all want our students to learn, and we do everything we can to make this possible for them. Is it really the grade we give them that helps my students on their learning paths best? Stop for a moment and think about this now… I firmly believe that it isn’t. The main questions, therefore, are “What has the greatest impact on my learners’ achievement in school?” and “What can I do better to help my students learn?”. In answering these questions we will be looking at concrete and practical examples for the lower and upper primary class, but easily adaptable to any age-group.

Zoltán RÉZMŰVES started out as an English teacher in a secondary school in 1990 in Budapest, Hungary. Between 1999 and 2011, he worked as an editor for Oxford University Press, then set up his own publishing services company, Consonant Kiadó and became a freelance author, teacher trainer and editor. Among numerous teacher’s books, practice and test materials, he also co-authored coursebooks preparing for international and local language exams. His teacher training and conference work has taken him to over 35 countries worldwide.
Learning through assessment: the LOA approach in the secondary classroom
Language teachers continually build up their awareness of students’ progress – often in an intuitive and spontaneous way. A Learning-Oriented Assessment (LOA) approach provides a more structured framework for identifying and addressing specific learner needs for optimum learning outcomes through a range of practical teaching techniques.
